The ReDCo Group, Inc. is a home, school, community, and site based service provider offering a variety of behavioral health and intellectual disability services to children, adolescents, and adults in central and eastern Pennsylvania. We offer an array of behavioral health services for persons with mental illness. Our developmental support services are provided and intended to support individuals with intellectual disabilities. All of our services are provided with compassion, respect, and our staff’s awareness of every individual’s privacy. Our behavioral health services are person centered and client driven treatment options.
Through Outpatient Counseling, we service children, adolescents, and adults with a mental health illness in Carbon, Juniata, Monroe, Pike, Schuylkill, and Sullivan counties. We provide group, family, and individual counseling services, as well as medication management and supportive counseling. We do this by tailoring all treatment goals to the individual receiving services.
In group counseling, consumers are able to draw support from others in similar circumstances, while given the opportunity to both receive and provide feedback in the group. Family counseling is often indicated when a child is the identified consumer. Individual counseling, or psychotherapy, is used to promote individual growth.
In Safe Haven, we serve residents of Schuylkill County, ages 14 and older, who are experiencing a short-term emotional or behavioral crisis. We provide a safe, supervised environment, and offer an alternative to psychiatric hospitalization. Safe Haven is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We can accommodate up to eight consumers. We will provide individuals with the supports they need in order to remain in the community. We ensure a comfortable, non-judgmental atmosphere, in which one can process feelings and explore new options.
Our “Work Crew” consists of supervised consumers of mental health services. This program provides work experience, training and job coaching that will help our consumers in seeking gainful employment. Crew members learn to work together as a team, improving socialization and communication skills, as well as developing a sense of pride in completed work assignments.
The Family Support Unit works with families of at-risk children. The program staff supports the development of and oversees a formal service plan. This plan details goals focusing on the safety and general well-being of the families involved.
The Peer Support Program inspires hope of recovery for individuals age 18 and older in Monroe, Pike, and Schuylkill Counties. This program focuses on individuals with severe and persistent mental health illness. We support consumers in achieving personal wellness by helping them learn to cope with stress and barriers using a strength-based recovery support model. This model includes the use of WRAP’s, or Wellness Recovery Action Plans. Services are provided by individuals who have “walked the walk” and who are in recovery themselves. They are certified to help others, and show that hope is probable, not just possible.
The Transition Age Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program assists adults with mental illness in connecting with the community. Through participation in this recovery based model, individuals will develop a sense of accomplishment, competency, and belonging through new and expanded roles in social, employment, and educational opportunities. Consumer choice is emphasized, as well as active participation in goal setting. Strategies to acquire skills and develop an individual support network are the cornerstones to this rehabilitative program.
The ReDCo Group supports residents of Berks, Carbon, Monroe, and Schuylkill Counties by operating community living homes for adults with intellectual disabilities. Our community living homes can support one to four individuals per home. We provide a safe and nurturing environment in each of our homes and practice the philosophy that every individual has a right to live the life they choose. Family members are always welcome and invited to be a part of their loved one’s life.
We are able to operate successful homes by supporting our residents in becoming fully integrated into their communities. Personal choice is paramount in our homes, as evidenced by the way the homes are arranged and decorated. Additional supports to our residents may include medical monitoring and representative payee services.
Our Intermediate Care Facilities support the most medically or behaviorally complex individuals with intellectual disabilities in Carbon, Northumberland, and Schuylkill Counties. As with our community living homes, residents are encouraged to become active members of their community. We are able to support these consumers by having a higher staff to consumer ratio than our more traditional living homes. Licensed medical staff and additional behavioral support staff are provided around the clock.
The Life Sharing program supports adults with intellectual disabilities. This program supports both the consumer and a host family in the community that agrees to provide a caring and nurturing household for the individual. Consumers’ lives are enhanced as they have the opportunity to share responsibilities, successes, and challenges that occur in the course of normal day-to-day family life. The ReDCo Group provides support and supervision to the host families.
The Supported Living program cares for individuals in their own home or apartment, with limited assistance. The goal of this program is to support individuals who prefer to stay in their own homes, however, need some additional support. We are able to do this by providing a modest amount of staff support each week to assist with housekeeping, grocery shopping, and/or transportation to appointments.
The ReDCo Group Community Participation Supports program is designed to support adults with intellectual disabilities in Berks, Carbon, Luzerne, and Schuylkill Counties. The program features a central hub where participants can meet daily, and increases the opportunities for these individuals to engage in preferred and meaningful activities within their community. We are able to achieve positive outcomes by encouraging participants to give direct input into their daily activity schedule. We also have a low staff to individual ratio, which ensures that each person has ample opportunities to engage in activities they enjoy. Daily activities are a combination of community-based and facility-based activities.
